Each year Ozark offers the opportunity for Juniors, in conjunction with their U.S. History class, to take a tour of historic sites on the east coast.
It is going to be an exciting trip this year! We'll start with a unique experience at Ripley's Believer it or Not! and then experience the historic colony at Jamestown, explore the colonial city of Williamsburg and the Governor's mansion. Arlington National Cemetery - changing of the guard, Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, all are stops along the way. We will visit the Holocaust Museum, Smithsonian, and make our way to New York City and Lady Liberty. A trip up the Empire State Building - 86th floor - and back down to continue on to Boston.
We will travel by the home of Paul Revere, Old North Church, the USS Constitution, USS Cassin Young and Freedom Trail. A stop by the Tea Party Ship and Museum, where Revolution is afoot and tea will be thrown, Huzzah! Plimoth Plantation is a great way to immerse yourself in the lives of ordinary colonists, and time in the Wampanoag's Quonset hut will educate us on the challenge of life without the comforts of modern civilization. Our lesson will wrap up with a stop at the Little White Church in Washington, NH for a walk down the Sabbath Trail, and then put on your rain coats for a boat ride to the foot of Niagara
