The Learning Resource Center, also known as the LRC, is a time set aside in the library for independent study, group projects, and tutoring in a quiet learning environment. The LRC is open from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. and from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday. On Friday, it is open from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. Lauren Upson-Hosteter, our LRC Director and Testing Coordinator, is available during this time to supervise students in the library and tutor those who need or would like academic assistance outside the classroom.
Tutoring is available on various topics like Mr. Delim's Algebra I homework and Mr. Grant's Chemistry assignments
during these hours. However, students also have the opportunity to schedule an appointment with Ms. Lauren for individual writing workshops. Students working on essays and term papers can get assistance with content, grammar, thesis development, posing research questions, and correct citation use.
Also, from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, an additional Ozark Adventist Academy faculty member is usually in the LRC for individual tutoring. The LRC is available to all Ozark Adventist Academy students, from those who are trying bring their grade up to a C in World History, to those who are trying to move from a A to an A+ in English III.
